PROBLEM
Managing goals and daily routines is difficult with fragmented tools, leading to inefficiency and disorganization.

SOLUTION
An all-in-one app for goal tracking, routine management, and social connectivity, streamlining organization and collaboration.
OVERVIEW
As part of the Interaction Design I course project, my team and I developed a prototype for a website/app. Each student pitched an idea, and I was one of the six whose concept was selected. My idea was an all-in-one app to help users manage every aspect of their lives seamlessly. The project involved an in-depth process, including a research phase, modeling phase, research report, and framework development, ensuring a comprehensive and thoughtful design approach.
COURSE GOALS
-
Develop a comprehensive research report, including literature reviews, competitive audits, and detailed personas.
-
Implement the Goal-Directed Design (GDD) process.
-
Conduct interviews with a diverse group of individuals to gather unique insights.
-
Collaborate effectively as a team throughout the project.

PROCESS
BRAINSTORM
During the brainstorming phase, we developed a context scenario, crafted a vision statement—"How can I pack my life into one app?"—defined persona expectations, and outlined key path scenarios. These elements helped us shape a clear direction and ensure the design aligned with user needs and goals.
RESEARCH PHASE
The research phase is a critical component of the design process. During this phase, we conducted a kickoff meeting, performed a thorough literature review, carried out a competitive audit, and held user interviews. These efforts culminated in the creation of a comprehensive research report summarizing our findings. The primary goal of the research phase is to equip us, as designers, with a deep understanding of the topics and user needs related to the app, laying a solid foundation for informed and effective design decisions.
MODELING PHASE
After completing our study, we transitioned to the modeling phase. During this stage, we developed detailed user personas to identify and understand our users' end-of-life goals. These personas, fictional characters grounded in user data and research insights, are a vital tool in our design process. They provide a deeper understanding of the target audience, enabling us to tailor solutions that meet their specific needs and expectations.
FRAMEWORK
We progressed to building the framework, which involved creating wireframes, developing prototypes, conducting usability tests, and refining the prototype to ensure an optimal user experience.
REFINEMENT
After completing usability testing, we focused on refining our prototype. Using feedback from testers, we made targeted modifications and minor adjustments, testing iteratively to ensure optimal performance and user satisfaction.
